Cooperation - Spenner
Proven cooperation
How avitea Industrieservice optimizes loading at the Spenner cement plant:
An example of industry independence for outsourcing logistics processes is the cooperation between Spenner and avitea Industrieservice. For the cement manufacturer, avitea Industrieservice takes over the loading in the area of bagged goods and thus a process that places the highest quality demands on the employees.
Spenner is an owner-managed company and produces, among other things, over one million tonnes of cement, lime and dry mortar annually at its Erwitte location in the district of Soest. The loading of the bagged products for onward transport to construction companies and markets represents a critical point in the production and supply chain. A bag of cement can easily be damaged during loading. If a bag tears open, the cement reacts with the air humidity and becomes hard. The consequence: The cement can no longer be sold.
The work in the cement plant also places very high demands on the employees due to the high weight loads and the heat generated by the equipment. It is also characterised by daily and seasonal fluctuations. It often happens that many trucks are ready for loading at the same time, resulting in loading peaks. The seasonal fluctuations are mainly due to the fact that the demand for building materials is much higher in summer than in winter. The complexity is further increased by the requirement that a truck must have left the factory premises again after 90 minutes at the latest, so that a high degree of process efficiency is required here.

The avitea Industrieservice team handles the entire loading process of bagged goods for Spenner - from acceptance from production to loading the truck. A total of 11 employees are deployed for this, working in three shifts. The team loads up to 1400 loads a month for Spenner.
The fact that the slightest damage to the cement bags renders the material unusable means that the work focuses on maximum sensitivity in handling the products, which also depends on the type of cement. Spenner has a total of about 50 different bagged products in its range. The forklift drivers employed here therefore require a high level of experience. avitea Industrieservice not only takes care of finding suitable personnel who can meet these quality requirements, but also provides regular training and further education.
The avitea Industrieservice team also has a high degree of flexibility in taking on tasks, so that daily and seasonal fluctuations can be balanced out at any time by taking on other activities. For example, the team is also responsible for cleaning the halls and equipment, which ensures that the cement plant can produce efficiently, especially in the summer when demand is high.
The joint solution: Precise approach
The advantages resulting from the successful partnership between avitea Industrieservice and Spenner are enormous. When loading bagged goods, the focus is above all on precision. In order to avoid damage during loading and to reduce costs, particularly experienced personnel is used here. avitea Industrieservice has this expertise.
In addition, avitea Industrieservice personnel can be deployed much more flexibly in the event of order fluctuations, which makes it possible to vary costs. The collaboration between Spenner and avitea Industrieservice is thus a good example of successful cooperation based on trust, competence and a clear strategy.
